The Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) is the EU's primary framework for crisis management and defense. The CSDP calls for the deployment of personnel on military or civilian missions to preserve peace, prevent conflict and strengthen international security.

The High Representative/Vice-President Kaja Kallas travelled to Manila this week to represent the European Union at the 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial and other ASEAN-related events, and to participate in commemorations marking the 50th anniversary of ASEAN's Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC).

Today, the European Union is stepping up pressure on Russia’s war machine with its biggest sanctions listings package in four years, alongside new measures targeting war crimes, internal repression and malicious cyber activities adopted last week.
