Around 2,000 women and men are currently deployed to our neighbourhood in civilian CSDP missions under EU flag – working outside of the EU’s borders, providing security at home. The EU and its Member States are now implementing a set of commitments to strengthen the civilian dimension of European security and defence.

Permanent Structured Cooperation on security and defence is one of the new instruments in the EU’s toolbox.
