Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Ukraine?

What we offer?

A traineeship of 5 months within the Local and Human Development Operations Section of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, starting in September 2020, subject to respect to the local legislation as well as the national legislation of the candidate(s) if non-resident.

The Local and Human Development Section of the Delegation of the EU in Ukraine is in charge of managing the cooperation programmes in the areas of decentralisation and regional development, health, education, social protection, culture, civil society, and agriculture.

Main tasks:

  • Policy implementation support, including collection of good practices and sharing of good  experience with colleagues across all sections of the Delegation; support for implementation of policies and programmes; input to briefings, speeches and lines to take; guidance on mainstreaming civil society support within all sectors of cooperation.
  • Networking and stakeholder engagement, including organising regular donor groups, putting together stakeholder analysis, and liaising with partners to develop up-to-date political economic analyses on particular areas of the civic sector in Ukraine
  • Supporting the Joint Programming work, including support in drafting thematic fiches, organisational support in setting up meetings with relevant development partners, etc

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • University degree in a relevant discipline
  • Fluent (oral and written) in English and Ukrainian
  • Experience with civil society organisations

Important information

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travel inside the country of residence, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
