We are pleased to invite you to participate in the side event titled “Aid for Trade: a Vehicle to Build Climate Resilience”. It will be held on 4 July 2019 from 16.30-17.45 at Room W, WTO in Geneva during the 2019 Aid for Trade (AfT) Global Review.

The event will highlight the important role trade—including trade in clean technologies—can play in creating a more resilient system. This is particularly important for developing countries facing “double exposure” to both economic shocks and environmental challenges, such as climate change. The event provides a platform to discuss whether and how environmental considerations could be systematically integrated into AfT investments, how countries can better benefit from AfT in terms of building resilience and protecting the environment, and how international organizations can support such efforts.

We sincerely hope you will be able to join us and our panelists (see below) as we discuss this important topic.
