Regional overview

The main objective of the EU Competition Collaboration Project is to provide dialogue opportunities to discuss all areas of competition law, including investigation procedures, restrictive agreements, cartels, abuse of dominance, mergers, State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and state aid.

Duration: 2018-2022

Geographical coverage: Japan, Korea, China, India and ASEAN.

Main objective:

To provide dialogue opportunities to discuss all areas of competition law, including investigation procedures, restrictive agreements, cartels, abuse of dominance, mergers, State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and state aid

 

Activity 1: Competition Summer School (CSS)

The CSS is an Intensive two-week training course for ASEAN competition agencies’ officials on the fundamental anti-trust provisions under the EU competition policy and its implementing regulations.

 

Activity 2: EU visitors programme

The 1st EU visitors programme commenced from October-December 2018. A competition official from the Philippines Competition Commission (PCC) has been placed as a secondee at the EU Commission’s DG Competition.

 

Activity 3: Competition Week

The 1st Competition Week is expected to be convened in Q1 2019 in Malaysia.

The 2nd Competition Week is to be convened in 2019 in Thailand.
