TERMS OF REFERENCE / JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Position: Social Media and Web Manager, Europe House Project, funded by the European Union

Location: Europe House Office in Tirana, Albania

 

Overall description

The Social Media and Web Manager will be based in the Europe House project office located in Tirana, but s/he will be also expected to spend his or her working time in the field in equal terms visiting project beneficiaries throughout Albania. This position entails a maximum of 200 working days in a year.

Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Social Media and Web Manager will be responsible for all matters relating to the management of the social media channels and web presences of the EU Delegation in Tirana.  In addition, s/he will be responsible for the Europe House project’s website.

Social Media and Web Manager will prepare a monthly social media calendar for postings on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.  S/he will be directly responsible for preparing posts and stories to accompany the photos and videos published online.

S/he will be responsible for print and non-news outputs (text and A/V), and social media accounts.  S/he will be responsible for preparing updates to website content and social media for publication by the EU Delegation as well as publication of updates to the separate web and social media sites operated by the communication project, following approval of the content and update by the EU Delegation.

S/he will be responsible for monitoring of social media channels as well as moderation of comments and messages ensuring timely answers to requests.

S/he will prepare weekly social media and web reports and monthly statistics reports about social media reach and web visits.

Main responsibilities of the Social Media and Web Manager are:

  • Prepare a social media strategy and calendar,
  • Prepare and schedule posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube,
  • Preparing copy for posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube,
  • Content writing for posts, photos, videos,
  • Preparing weekly social media report,
  • Preparing monthly social media and web statistics,
  • Moderation of comments and messages on social media channels,
  • Monitoring of social media channels of partners for opportunities to reshare and retweet their content
  • All other tasks related to the social media channels

Expert's profile:

Qualifications and skills

  • University degree, preferably a Master's degree, in a discipline related to this profile
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Albanian

General professional experience

  • At least 5 years of general professional experience in communications and/or marketing
  • And
  • At least 2 years in information, publicity, visibility, communication activities in the public or private sector

Specific professional experience

  • Experience on management and implementation of multiple communication and information tasks such as the organisation of events, management of websites, management of social media channels, and preparation of flash news and newsletters
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of social media including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube
  • Strong copy writing skills (writing articles and posts) in English and Albanian
  • Skilled in managing and updating content on web platforms
  • Advanced photography skills (considered a plus)
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, self-directed and dynamic work environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Experience in information and communication activities in international donor funded projects and particularly in EU-funded programmes will be an advantage
