Young Azerbaijani students experienced what decision making within the EU looks like

‘Transition to a fair, sustainable and green economy’ was the topic of the Model EU Council (MEUC) role-play simulation organised in ADA University on 6-7 December 2019.
Young people interested in EU affairs and having a desire to contribute to solving global issues participated in the MEUC.
Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, Ambassador Kestutis Jankauskas delivered opening speech stressing the importance of the event topic and environment for every citizen in the world.
The participants gained a better understanding of the EU decision-making process, and developed various soft skills such as public speaking, working as a team under pressure and negotiating.
MEUC is a role-play simulation of EU Council meetings where delegates from the EU member states represent the interests of their countries and hold discussions focused on policy issues concerning the EU and its Member States.
This event üas organised by Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) from Azerbaijan.
The YEA initiative aims to foster cooperation and sustainable links between young people and youth organisations from the EU and its Eastern partner countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan,Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
