Text

The first Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange National Information Day took place in Beirut last week, hosted by the Lebanese International University (LUI) and organized in collaboration with the Lebanese National Erasmus+ Office. Over 120 participants from Higher Education Institutions (international relations officers professors, students) and Youth Organisations had the opportunity to discover the new groundbreaking project of the European Union and to understand the different opportunities offered by Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange.

A panel of experts, representing the different institutions associated to the project, highlighted the importance of widening the access to intercultural exchanges to a greater number and diversity of youth. “Complementing and enriching physical exchanges, Virtual Exchange ensures a meaningful facilitated dialogue: attractive, rich and diverse, that can influence the way young people deal with difference”.

Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange is a ground-breaking project enabling youth in Europe and the Southern Mediterranean to engage in meaningful intercultural experiences online, as part of their formal or non-formal education. This flagship project is established under a contract with the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency, financed by the European Union’s budget, and it is implemented by a consortium composed of Search for Common Ground, Anna Lindh Foundation, UNIMED, Sharing Perspectives Foundation, Soliya, UNICollaboration, Kiron Open Higher Education, and Migration Matters.
