The 09th of May marks Europe Day. In the build up to this important celebration, the Delegation of the European Union to South Sudan is organising a photo competition and exhibition.
The competition #inspiring photos of South Sudan is open to South Sudanese citizens living in the country.
The Competition is now on untill 6th May 17:00hrs. Photos that are submitted after the end date will not be eligible.
HOW TO ENTER & REQUIREMENTS
The participants are asked to provide 1 photo capturing an activity/event/landscape/people that shows the beauty of the country and life in South Sudan. Submissions should be done by Email to DELEGATION-SOUTH-SUDAN@eeas.europa.eu named EUDEL"#inspiringphotosofsouthsudan". Participants shall accompany their photos with their particulars: Name, Date of Birth, Nationality and Contact Information and short description of the photo in English outlining the theme, the context, location and shot date in a separate piece of paper. The photos shall fulfil the following requirements: 1) Image files should be Maximum 10 megabytes in jpeg. 2) Photos will only be accepted in digital form. 3) Photos should neither violate the rights of a third party, nor contain offensive content. All entries, regardless of categories, must not violate the intellectual property rights of third parties.
A preselection of maximum 20 best pictures will be made and there will be three prizes. The final selection of the photos will be made by a jury made up of representatives of the EU delegation to South Sudan and member states on the basis of scope, originality and demonstration of inspiration drawn from the photos. All the 20 entrants will be invited to an award ceremony and a reception on Europe Day May 9th during which the selected photos will be exhibited. These photos will be published on the delegation website and tweeted. The grand prize is a Cannon model camera. A Special Jury Prize of an android smartphone for a picture on the theme: Contributions to Changing lives featuring women/youths will also be presented. The finalists shall receive Honorific Mention Certificates.
By entering the Contest, participant acknowledges that: the submitted picture is his/her original work and does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in it. The EU Delegation will not accept any liability or obligation with regards to contestants’ artworks. All applicants will retain the intellectual property rights on the contents of their submissions. However, by entering the competition, each applicant grants the EU Delegation right and license to use, reproduce, communicate, demonstrate, make available for public, display and distribute the content of his/her submission for our promotional, informational and educational or awareness purposes, via printed or digital or online media, including our website.
