Today is a sad day for the global community, as a key partner turns its back on the fight against climate change. The EU deeply regrets the unilateral decision by the Trump administration to withdraw the US from the Paris Agreement.

The European Union and the African Union reaffirm their strong commitment to full implementation of the Paris agreement, and call on all partners to keep up the momentum created in 2015.

From 30 November to 11 December Paris hosts the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the 11th session of the meeting of the parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 11).

The United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development at a special summit on 25 September.

On 17 June 2015, European Embassies around the world celebrate the European Climate Diplomacy Day, to highlight the positive action that is being taken around the globe in collaboration with the EU and its Member States.
