Jajce, a city in northwest BiH, known as a home to 30 national monuments will host the central event to mark this year’s Europe Day. Following Jajce’s rich cultural and historical heritage trail (Jajce fortress, catacombs and underground church, Pliva lakes and water mills, temple of the God Mithras, Esma Sultana Mosque, church of Saint John the Baptist, the tomb of the last Bosnian king, Ethno Museum with mineral collection, Museum of AVNOJ where the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was established) is one of many activities taking place there on Monday 7 May.
It will be the meeting point for journalists, bloggers, representatives of CSO coming from Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar, Brcko and adjacent cities to celebrate cultural heritage and EU values together with the EU representatives in BiH and citizens of Jajce.
Celebrity chefs coming from Romania and Italy will join the students from several BiH Cooking schools in preparing the most delicious national dishes from their respective countries; local bands, dance groups will take care of the entertainment throughout the day; a workshop on cultural heritage will gather local cultural and tourism associations; the EU flag will be projected on the 17m high Jajce Waterfall situated in the city center while the Mostar Rock School Band will perform Ode to Joy thus joining #Ode2Joy challenge.
