Following on from a CSDP reflection seminar, about 60 ESDC alumni from Moldova met the participants of another training event to discuss the EU Global Strategy. The national and multinational alumni events are designed to promote horizontal (involving participants from different courses) and vertical (involving participants from different class years) networking.
The Austrian National Defence Academy (NDA/LVAk) hosted its annual CSDP orientation course in partnership with the Hungarian National University of Public Service (NUPS) from 13 to 16 March 2017 in Vienna. 60 participants from 10 different European countries (Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Lithuania, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom) attended the training as an integral part of their studies.
The main message is that the European Security and Defence College remains the number one training provider for the Common Security and Defence Policy in the broader context of the Common Foreign and Security Policy.
The second edition of the ESDC booklet WHAT WE ARE – WHAT WE DO has been released. On 23 February 2017, the new publication of the ESDC was presented by Dirk Dubois, head of the ESDC, on the occasion of the alumni conference.
