On 25 May 2016, the Delegation of the European Union to Swaziland, in partnership with local partners, hosted a very successful and colourful primary schools arts festival held within the framework of the annual Bushfire arts festival, Swaziland's biggest and most popular arts event which has become a global attraction.

On 27 May 2016, EU Ambassador, Nicola Bellomo, toured Phocweni primary school in Manzini where the EU has funded the construction of classrooms and other infrastructure as part of the EU Support to Education and Training in Swaziland. The Ambassador was joined in the tour by the Minister of Education and Training, Dr Phineas Magagula.

European consumers are interested in Ghanaian products and Ghanaian businesses are interested in selling in the vast EU market. For that reason, the Ministry of Trade and Industry organises workshops to inform Ghanaian firms on how to export to the EU and benefits from the regional and European agreements. The first Trade Day will take place tomorrow in Accra in the presence of high level officials from the Ministry, the EU and 150 business representatives.

The Political Dialogue Meeting between Ghana and the European Union (EU) took place on 6 June 2016 in Accra. It was co-chaired by Ghana's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ms. Hanna TETTEH and H.E. William HANNA, EU Ambassador in Ghana. The meeting brought together Ambassadors and representatives of all nine accredited EU Member States in Ghana and representatives of the various Government institutions such as the Ministry of Finance, Foreign Affairs and and the National Authorising Officer. The Minister for Finance, Defence and the Interior were present.

The European Commission (EC) has released results of the Erasmus +2016 selection rounds of scholarships for the Erasmus Mundus joint programmes. A total of 15 candidates from Ghana have been placed on the main list (comprising two doctoral candidates and 13 Masters' students). There are also 139 candidates from Ghana on the reserve list (comprising four doctoral candidates and 135 Masters Students).

On 4 June in Tuvalu, Commissioner Mimica met with Prime Minister Sopoaga, and discussed with his counterpart the EU's willingness to implement a successful bilateral cooperation with Tuvalu, focusing mainly on environment protection through the sustainable management of waste.

The European Union Delegation and EU Member States Embassies in Tirana regret that, on Monday, the political leaders in Albania could not reach an agreement on the judicial reform.
