Today, a Press Conference was hosted by the Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Professor Peter Katjavivi and EU Ambassador to Namibia, Jana Hybaskova to announce that the 31st Session of the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly will take place in Windhoek from 13-15 June 2016. The Speaker said it is a privilege and honor for Namibia to host the upcoming Conference. The EU Ambassador Jana Hybaskova said Namibia was chosen due to the safety and stability the country exhibits and that it provides a conducive environment to have strategic discussions on topics such as what the Post Cotonou Agreement between the EU and ACP countries will entail.

A l'occasion du quarantième anniversaire de l'Accord de coopération signé en 1976 entre la Tunisie et la Communauté européenne, l'Union européenne avec les autorités tunisiennes organisent, du 24 au 26 mai, les Journées de l'Europe. Cet évènement vise à mieux faire connaître ce partenariat, son ambition, ses acteurs, son histoire, ses projets, ses réalisations et son impact tout particulièrement depuis 2011, dans cette période historique de transition démocratique.


Libya, Syria and the European Union's Eastern Partnership were among the topics discussed by Federica Mogherini and Foreign Ministers from all Member States in today's Foreign Affairs Council.

The recent execution of Mr Kho Jabing, a Malaysian national, in Singapore, runs counter to global trends towards instating a moratorium on the use of capital punishment. The European Union recalls its opposition to the use of capital punishment which can never be justified.
