EU Ambassador to China opens Children's Art Exhibition in Beijing

Beijing, 10th July 2015- As part of the activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of EU-China diplomatic relations, EU Ambassador to China Mr. Hans Dietmar Schweisgut today officially opened an exhibition of children's artworks entitled "Dreams of Europe and China" in Beijing this morning. The 2015 Children's Art Competition and Exhibition called for children from both European and Chinese schools to present drawings based on their visions of China and Europe.

EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini said “the moment of truth will come extremely soon, [in the] next hours I think,” speaking from Vienna in an exclusive interview with Christiane Amanpour about the P5+1 talks with Iran.

Due to the final stages of the negotiations with Iran in Vienna that she coordinates, High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini will not be able to attend the 20th anniversary commemoration of the Srebrenica genocide tomorrow at the Potočari Memorial Park.

She has taken this decision with a heavy heart, but conscious of the fact that working to try to finalise an agreement on the Iranian nuclear file is the best way to help building peace and trust, honouring the victims of all conflicts.

"I like to work with young people and support them. Where I come from, many schools have closed down because there are not enough teachers, and I see the need to go back and work there."
