A new agenda for the oceans

It is time to stop taking our oceans for granted and start taking better care of this precious resource and delicate eco-systems that have taken millions of years of form. All of us share responsibility to keep our oceans healthy.

On 10 November the European Commission and HR/VP Mogherini published a Communication on Ocean Governance. The communication sets out 3 priority areas of work which provide a plan of action on both maritime security and environmental issues.

Le Chef des Opérations de Coopération de la Délégation de l’UE au Niger, M. Patrick Berckmans a remis au Ministre de la Justice, Garde des Sceaux, M. Marou Amadou, un lot de de matériels et équipements dans le cadre du Programme d'Appui à la Justice et à l'Etat de Droit (PAJED-II), au bénéfice de la Justice et de la Sécurité Intérieure.

The EU Delegation to the UN in Geneva invited on 11 November to an interactive panel discussion with reference to the outcomes of the World Humanitarian Summit and the Grand Bargain. The debate revolved around the important matter of localisation of aid, more specifically highlighting its challenges and its opportunities from donors', agencies', Red Cross/Red Crescent as well as NGO's perspectives. The event took place in the framework of the Humanitarian Liaison Working Group, which the EU currently chairs.
