The European Commission (EC) has released results of the Erasmus +2016 selection rounds of scholarships for the Erasmus Mundus joint programmes. A total of 15 candidates from Ghana have been placed on the main list (comprising two doctoral candidates and 13 Masters' students). There are also 139 candidates from Ghana on the reserve list (comprising four doctoral candidates and 135 Masters Students).

On 4 June in Tuvalu, Commissioner Mimica met with Prime Minister Sopoaga, and discussed with his counterpart the EU's willingness to implement a successful bilateral cooperation with Tuvalu, focusing mainly on environment protection through the sustainable management of waste.

The European Union Delegation and EU Member States Embassies in Tirana regret that, on Monday, the political leaders in Albania could not reach an agreement on the judicial reform.

Last night I talked to former Spanish Prime Minister, Mr. José Luis Zapatero, to discuss his ongoing efforts together with former Presidents of the Dominican Republic, Mr Leonel Fernandez, and Panama, Mr Martín Torrijos, to facilitate dialogue between the government of Venezuela and members of the Venezuelan opposition.

Hier soir, j’ai évoqué avec l’ancien premier ministre espagnol, M. Jose Luis Zapatero, les efforts qu'il déploie actuellement avec l'ancien président de la République dominicaine, M. Leonel Fernandez, et l'ancien président du Panama, M. Martín Torrijos, afin de faciliter le dialogue entre le gouvernement du Venezuela et les membres de l’opposition vénézuélienne.

Dans le cadre de leurs échanges réguliers relatifs à la lutte contre le terrorisme, la Turquie et l’Union européenne ont tenu leur dialogue consacré à ce sujet à Bruxelles le 8 juin 2016. Le terrorisme constitue une menace directe pour nos pays et nos citoyens. L’UE et la Turquie ont reconnu l’importance de la nécessité de collaborer étroitement comme des partenaires clés et des alliés stratégiques afin de lutter contre ces menaces pesant sur notre sécurité et la paix.
