Today's terrorist attack in Turkish town of Suruҫ targeting young volunteers from the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF), who were gathered to go and help with the reconstruction of Kobane, aimed to further destabilise the region and communities living side by side. The attack adds to the pain and suffering of Syrian people fleeing violence and destruction, and of the Turkish people so generously engaged in helping them.

Good afternoon, I know you are all waiting for other news this afternoon from a different format of the Council that is meeting in this very same moment. I am also waiting from news from that format of the Council.

Today with the Foreign Ministers we started by celebrating good results of European and multilateral diplomacy, which shows us also the way for the many crises we still have to face and that still need to be solved.

The recent agreement with Iran over its nuclear programme and developments in Libya, Tunisia and the Middle East Peace Process dominated July's meeting of Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels.
