The vote today in the Verkhovna Rada on the constitutional amendments related to decentralisation is an important step that paves the way towards a substantial devolution of powers from the central level to regions and communities, increasing in parallel the accountability of territorial self-governments to their constituencies. The amendments will also facilitate the implementation of the Minsk Agreements.


Le vote des amendements constitutionnels relatifs à la décentralisation, auquel a aujourd'hui procédé la Verkhovna Rada (parlement ukrainien), constitue une étape importante qui ouvre la voie à un substantiel transfert des pouvoirs du niveau central vers les régions et communautés, tout en renforçant la responsabilité des entités autonomes territoriales envers leurs circonscriptions. Les amendements faciliteront également la mise en œuvre des accords de Minsk.
