Thimphu, April 12, 2017 | The Royal Government of Bhutan and the European Union (EU) today launched a new EUR 21.5 million Rural Development and Climate Change Response Programme to support sustainable agricultural development and climate change adaptation in Bhutan.

Following up on the Joint Communication on the Central Mediterranean Route and the Malta Declaration, the EU Trust Fund for Africa upon proposal from the European Commission, adopted today a €90 million programme to step up the protection of migrants and reinforce migration management in Libya.

The Foreign Ministers of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and the High Representative of the European Union met in Lucca, Italy on 10 –11 April to address a number of major international issues that impact global peace and security. The Ministers adopted the G7 Joint Communiqué and the G7 Declaration on Responsible State Behaviour in Cyberspace and endorsed the G7 Statement on Non-proliferation and Disarmament.

Министры приняли Совместное коммюнике и Заявление "Большой семерки" касательно ответственного поведения государств в киберпространстве, а также поддержали Заявление "Большой семерки" по вопросам ядерного разоружения и нераспространения ядерного оружия.

The European Union has yet again increased its assistance to Zimbabwe with another EUR 2.35 million (USD 2.49 million) in response to the El Niño-induced drought and to help alleviate the impact of the lean season that peaked from January to March 2017.

“In the 90s it was hard. I was in a high school at the time. My parents, as many others, became unemployed after collapse of Socialist System and we had to think on how to survive,” says 46 year old Otgonbat Davaajav, who is the head of the Gazar Ekhiin Bayalag cooperative in the Arkhangai province of Mongolia.
