Nigeria is once again the target of violence. Over the last days, clashes in the northern city of Zaria have left more than 60 victims and many wounded. Our thoughts and condolences go to those who lost loved ones.
We expect all local religious, political and community leaders to exercise restraint and respect human rights. We look forward to a thorough investigation by the Nigerian authorities of the incident to be urgently launched in order to identify those responsible and bring them to justice.
