First of all, I’m really glad to be here. For me this is something special. I was here in my previous capacity for the inauguration of President Santos, but this is my first visit in Colombia in my capacity as the High Representative of the European Union. But this does not mean that this is the first contact with the country.


European Fund for Strategic Investment triggers €100 billion of investment across the Union

On 20 May, the European Investment Bank (EIB) approved eight more projects worth €9.3 billion so far. The European Fund for Strategic Investments was supported 64 projects and attracted more than €100 billion of investment across the European Union in less than a year.

Following the announcements made by the authorities in Gaza of their intention to implement several death sentences in the coming days, the EU Missions in Jerusalem and Ramallah call for a reversal of the decision to carry out the execution of a number of prisoners.


European Union Heads of Mission in Jerusalem and Ramallah visited Bethlehem, Al Nahle and the Cremisan Valley on 26 May 2016. They held meetings with the Governor and the Mayor, members of local civil society organisations, and representatives from the business community. The visit came to gain a first-hand impression of developments in the governorate and particularly in the Cremisan valley.
