Today marks a major milestone in the global fight to eliminate illegal logging and the trade in illegal timber products, as Indonesia begins issuing FLEGT (Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade) licences that attest to the legality of the timber products it exports to the EU.

The European Union's Ambassador to Australia H.E. Sem Fabrizi, delivered a speech in Sydney addressing a joint meeting of the EU Heads of Mission, the European Australian Business Council and the European Chambers of Commerce. (Sydney, 10 November).

Il y a seulement trois années, la République centrafricaine était au bord du gouffre. Aujourd’hui, le pays a franchi une étape décisive. La Comisión Europea ha aprobado ocho nuevos proyectos por un valor superior a los 32 millones de euros en el marco del Instrumento de Colaboración (IC) para impulsar la cooperación con países asociados en áreas prioritarias.

The European Commission has approved eight new projects totalling more than €32 million under the Partnership Instrument (PI) to boost cooperation with partner countries in priority areas.

The 31st EUFF is currently underway in Ottawa following the official launch on 10 November at the Ottawa Little Theatre. Around 400 guest joined the EU Delegation, the Embassy of the Republic of Slovakia and the Canadian Film Institute for the screening of the award-winning Slovak movie "Eva Nova," followed by a reception.
