Lفي 19 أكتوبر بمراكش وعلى هامش التحضيرات التي تسبق مؤتمر الأطراف (الكوب 22)، نظَّم حفل توقيع مذكرة تفاهم بين الاتحاد الأوروبي والمجلس الوطني لحقوق الإنسان والمجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي والبيئي والاتحاد العام لمقاولات المغرب لدعم المجتمع المدني والفاعلين المغاربة غير الحكوميين.


Since 2003, the European Commission's Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) has been supporting Uzbekistan while focusing on disaster risk reduction under its international disaster preparedness programme.

On 8 October, Deputy Special Representative of UNAMI/UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Iraq Lise Grande and EU Ambassador Patrick Simonnet were received by the Governor of Anbar, Suhaib al-Rawi, and visited some of the FFIS-funded projects in Ramadi, following its liberation. Both the EU and UNDP praised the coordinating efforts of the Governor of Anbar as well as of the Provincial Council and expressed their confidence in the timely return of displaced persons to their city of origin, fostering recovery.

The European Union in Ghana and the Electoral Commission of Ghana on 18 October 2016 signed a Memorandum of Understanding on election observation towards the December 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary elections in Ghana at a ceremony in Accra. This is under the Electoral Commission/European Union (EC/EU) Election Project 2016.

The EU decided this week to provide 14 M€ to the Funding Facility for Immediate Stabilization (FFIS) managed by the UNDP. This will bring the overall European contribution (EU and its Member States) to 87.6 M€.

The Head of the European Union in Ghana, Ambassador William Hanna, on 17 October 2016, called on African Higher Educational authorities to promote the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union in their Universities. He was opening the third general meeting of "Tuning Africa Phase II" a programme for streamlining Higher education across African Universities funded by the European Union.
