In the Kyrgyz Republic, the project Youth’s Climate Change Resilience was launched in De-cember 2020. The project was supported by the European Union, as part of the initiative "Support-ing Action on Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation in the Kyrgyz Republic".

A group of 13 women living in lower valley of Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan, came together to study in the government’s “second chance” education initiative called Non-Formal Education Program. This initiative provides functional literacy and numeracy skills to those who have missed out on education. The 13 women are from low income families and work as daily wage workers, babysitters and home makers. They are united in their aspiration to try and do something to improve their economic circumstances. As their confidence in their literacy and numeracy skills grew, they formed an idea to try learning a vocational skill and to see if they could translate this into an income. Thus, was formed the group called Zheten Shayen Amsu tshogpa.
