For nearly three weeks in late November/early December moviegoers in Ottawa had the opportunity to see European films from all 28 EU Member States, a line-up worthy of the festival's 30 anniversary milestone.

Description: The planned assistance would include: Strengthening of the human resources, working methods and systems of targeted Departments within the Ministry, its related Agencies, other subordinate bodies and linkages with Oblast and Rayon Administrations; Development of multi-annual financial management and budgetary control both national and regional level; Support new procedures, regulations and legal acts in line with sector strategic priorities.

 

The Baku Court of Appeal decided today to transfer human rights defender Dr Leyla Yunus to house arrest on medical grounds. This is a welcome and positive humanitarian gesture which follows a similar decision on 12 November with regard to Dr Yunus' husband, Mr Arif Yunus. The European Union hopes further steps will follow. We are ready to further deepen and broaden our relations with Azerbaijan.

Federica Mogherini, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, has appointed Patricia Llombart Cussac as the new Director for Security, Infrastructure, Budget and Information Technology and Dr. Gerhard Conrad as the new Director for the Intelligence and Situation Centre at the European External Action Service (EEAS).

La Cour d’appel de Bakou a décidé aujourd’hui de libérer de prison la militante des droits de l’homme Leyla Yunus et de l’assigner à résidence, pour raisons médicales. Cette décision constitue un geste humanitaire positif dont il y a lieu de se féliciter. Elle fait suite à une décision similaire, prise le 12 novembre en faveur du mari de Mme Yunus, M. Arif Yunus. L’Union européenne espère que d’autres mesures suivront. Nous sommes prêts à approfondir et à élargir encore nos relations avec l’Azerbaïdjan.
