The European Union Delegation in Vientiane organizes an annual meeting with the former EU Erasmus Plus scholarship recipients and bid farewell for 12 new awardees from Laos before they head to EU member countries including Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Poland and Portugal to carry out their studies at different levels ranging from doctorate degree to professional trainings.

We have signed today an agreement on €50 million support from the EU's "African Peace Facility" to the Lake Chad Basin Commission Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in its fight against Boko Haram, as mandated by the African Union Peace and Security Council. This agreement comes at a time of renewed efforts by the member countries of the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) and Benin to eliminate the threat posed by the Boko Haram terrorist group and create conditions for the rehabilitation of the affected areas and people.

The agreements reached this weekend in Bosnia and Herzegovina - on the coordination mechanism and on the decision to proceed with an IMF programme - are very welcome news. With them, the country’s leadership, at all levels, has further demonstrated its commitment to the EU integration path of the country, in line with their citizens' expectations.

Les accords conclus ce week-end en Bosnie-Herzégovine, au sujet du mécanisme de coordination et de la décision de mener à bien un programme du FMI, constituent d'excellentes nouvelles. Par ces accords, les responsables du pays, à tous les niveaux, ont à nouveau fait la preuve de leur engagement à l'égard du processus d'intégration de la Bosnie-Herzégovine dans l'Union, se conformant ainsi aux attentes de leurs concitoyens.
