The main objective of this project is to strengthen security in the Mopti and Gao regions and to improve the management of border areas so as to prevent irregular migration, smuggling of migrants and trafficking in human beings.
On 25 May, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force. The Regulation updates and modernises the principles enshrined in the 1995 Data Protection Directive to guarantee privacy rights.
The regulation is an essential step to strengthen citizens' fundamental rights in the digital age and facilitate business by simplifying rules for companies in the digital single market. A single law will also do away with the current fragmentation and costly administrative burdens.
This project will aim at having gender sensitive guidelines and procedures for establishing customary estates which are validated by key stakeholders, tested in Mzimba, Kasungu and Phalombe Districts and proposed for wider rollout by the Government.

It is based on the holistic approach of Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), addressing multiple threats to livelihoods with short- and medium-term interventions. A transformative community empowerment outreach process is put in place to help community members to diversify and accumulate assets.
