The EU, through a partnership with the Government of Jamaica is supporting multiple projects to build Jamaica’s climate resilience.


The European Commission has today proposed bespoke arrangements to respond to the difficulties that people in Northern Ireland have been experiencing because of Brexit, by further facilitating the movement of goods from Great Britain to Northern Ireland.

As we emerge from the shadow of the pandemic, we have a unique opportunity to rebuild our economies on a new footing. We want to see not just a rebound, but a new era of sustained and sustainable growth. The Pandora papers were another reminder of the injustices that characterise our economic system today. The green and digital transition can only happen if it is based on fairness. So this reset of global corporate taxation is a fundamental part of the change we need to see: everyone must pay their fair share.

 

The Commission will provide free travel rail passes to 60,000 Europeans aged from 18 to 20 years, thanks to DiscoverEU. Applications open tomorrow, 12 October, at noon and close on 26 October, at noon, for a travel period in 2022, which will be the European Year of Youth.

The R2R Mauritius Project is an EU funded project that promotes a ridge to reef or integrated approach to the management of our landscapes. The project implemented by the National Parks and Conservation Service of the Ministry of Agro Industry and Food Security will contribute to increasing our island’s resilience to climate change, reducing biodiversity loss and improving food security.
