On the 6th March the Foreign Affairs Council adopted  the revised EU Guidelines on the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of the Child . Under the slogan "Leave No Child Behind" these Guidelines set out the EU's overarching strategy to strengthen efforts to ensure every child, in particular the most marginalised, is reached by EU policies and actions around the world.

EU contributes to the International Union for Conservation of nature (IUCN) - Save our Species Initiative with an initiative in support of African Wildlife and specifically focussing on the conservation of Africa's large carnivores.  The project foresees for the launching of a number of calls for proposals. IUCN launched the first initiative on Wednesday 05/04/2017, with the launching of the first call for proposals.

Today in Gyumri, the EU Ambassador to Armenia Piotr Świtalski announced € 2.9 million Grant Scheme designated to promote an inclusive and empowered society in Armenia, by facilitating participation of the civil society and local authorities in poverty reduction and sustainable development process at local level. It will contribute to raising the economic competitiveness, creating jobs and reducing tendencies of outward migration in regions.
