The steps taken both by the President of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi and the leader of Renamo, Afonso Dhlakama to restart the peace dialogue is a critical development.  It is now essential for  both parties to commence preparatory talks at the earliest opportunity.  A conducive environment for such peace talks requires the restoration of trust between all stakeholders.

Yesterday's attack on MINUSMA international forces in Kidal, which killed five Chadian peacekeepers and injured two others, proved yet again the terrorists' blatant disregard for the Malian people's desire to live in peace.

The EU extends its condolences to the families of the soldiers who died and to the United Nations forces, and wishes the injured soldiers a speedy recovery.

Bedouin communities in the central West Bank have faced repeated confiscations and demolitions in recent years, as part of the plans which have put them in grave humanitarian need and risk ending in forced transfers.

This commitment to lift sanctions was fulfilled on Implementation Day, January 16, 2016, and, as a result, there are now extensive economic opportunities for companies and financial institutions in Europe and around the world to do business in Iran.
