La Somalie a une nouvelle fois été frappée par un attentat terroriste. De nombreuses victimes sont à déplorer après l’attaque lancée hier contre l'hôtel Ambassador, dans le centre de Mogadiscio.

Deux députés ont perdu la vie. Les institutions démocratiques de Somalie jouent un rôle central dans la reconstruction du pays et le renforcement de la gouvernance.

Nous adressons nos condoléances aux familles des victimes, à tous les Somaliens et aux dirigeants du pays.

Action Aid International The Gambia in partnership with the Child Protection Alliance and FAWEGAM officially launched the project entitled “Empowering Child-focused Organisations to Promote Children’s Rights in 3 regions of The Gambia, LRR, CRR and URR”. The launching ceremony took place in Soma in the Lower River Region on Thursday 9th June 2016. The project worth 400,000€ (approximately D18,000,000) is co-funded by the European Union (EU) and ActionAid.

Once again Somalia has been victim of a terrorist attack, which caused numerous casualties following the assault on the Ambassador Hotel in central Mogadishu yesterday.

Amongst those killed were two lawmakers. The democratic institutions in Somalia play a pivotal role in rebuilding Somalia and in strengthening governance.

Our condolences go to the families of the victims, and to all Somali people and the leaders of the country.

The European Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, Neven Mimica, announced the European Union's support of EUR 5 million to Papua New Guinea's (PNG) commitments to address El Niño impact during his visit to Port Moresby to attend the 8th Summit of African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Heads of State and Governments.

High Representative Federica Mogherini visited Slovakia and Poland on Wednesday and Thursday, discussing Slovakia’s preparations for its first Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which begins next month, and preparing for the upcoming NATO summit and the upcoming Global Strategy for EU foreign policy during meetings with the President and Foreign Minister of Poland. 

The adoption in the final reading of constitutional amendments related to the judiciary by the Verkhovna Rada in Ukraine is a crucial step towards strengthening the judiciary, improving its efficiency, safeguarding its independence and impartiality, and combating corruption.

Thank you very much, Mr President. It is for me indeed a pleasure to come back to Warsaw. Poland was the first Member State I visited after I took office in November 2014. And it is very important for me to pay this visit just a month before the NATO summit, to prepare for that, to exchange views on the preparations on the political level of the NATO Summit.
