A joint op-ed by EU Ambassador Vincent Guérend, Belgian Ambassador Patrick Herman, German Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Thorsten Hutter, British Ambassador Moazzam Malik and Dutch Ambassador Rob Swartbol (published in The Jakarta Post, 18 April 2016)

The Presidential and governmental elections held in February and April 2016 were satisfactory from a technical standpoint, thanks to progressive improvements to electoral administration capacities, despite the incidents that took place on the island of Anjouan. The number of Comorians who voted reflects the fact that democracy is firmly established in the country.
