The EU is a Customs Union - its 28 member countries form a single territory for customs purposes. This means that:

no customs duties are paid on goods moving between EU Member States
all apply a common customs tariff for goods imported from outside the EU
goods that have been legally imported can circulate throughout the EU with no further customs checks.

The EU Delegation in Abuja, in partnership with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), on Tuesday, September 26 hosted a roundtable to mark the International Day on Universal Access to Information otherwise known as Right to Know Day 2017.

(Bogotá, 26 de septiembre de 2017).- La Unión Europea (UE) y el Gobierno colombiano entregarán este jueves 28 de septiembre en Quibdó, capital del departamento del Chocó, 2.830 equipos de recepción de televisión digital en el marco del convenio de “Apoyo a la implementación de la TV digital en Colombia que financia la UE con un monto de 8 millones de euros (unos 28 mil millones de pesos).

The Delegation of the European Union to Nigeria and ECOWAS in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education and Daily Trust are organising an Essay Competition on Gender Equality. The competition is part of the European Union Gender Action. The objective of the competition is to stimulate children's awareness of the role of women in society. The competition is open to Nigerian Senior Secondary School Students between the ages of 13-16 residing in Nigeria.

CARICOM Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Manorma Soeknandan paid a courtesy call on EU Ambassador Daniela Tramacere to discuss a review of EU CARICOM cooperation along with other issues such as Climate Change and the plight of both Dominica and Barbuda following the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria and Irma respectively.
