On 26 April 1986 the nuclear plant of Chernobyl in Ukraine ran a test that triggered a meltdown of the reactor, spewing out a cloud of radioactive material in the European sky.
More than thirty plant workers and firemen died in the immediate aftermath of the accident. The consequences of the radioactivity on the population and the environment are still under evaluation 30 years later. The worst nuclear disaster in history.
On 26 April, the Mission of Norway to the EU in Brussels hosted the screening of Grozny Blues as part of the One World Festival. The screening and the following discussion were organised in cooperation with the People in Need Foundation and the Human Rights House Foundation.
