National stakeholders of the Open Government Georgia met with the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Support Unit Deputy Director Mr. Joe Powel and Director for Civil Society Engagement Mr. Paul Maassen.

The first enhanced High Level Political Dialogue between the Kingdom of Tonga and the European Union under Article 8 of the ACP-EU Partnership (Cotonou) Agreement was held in Nuku’alofa. The meeting was chaired on the Tongan side by the Acting Prime Minister, Honourable Siaosi Sovaleni, and H.E. Andrew Jacobs, Ambassador to Tonga and Head of Delegation of the European Union for the Pacific. H.R.H. Crown Prince Tupouto‘a ‘Ulukalala and the Minister of Fisheries, Hon Semisi Fakahau participated in the political dialogue. The Parties reviewed bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Tonga and the European Union and discussed possibilities to intensify trade relations and strengthen co-operation in regional and international matters of common concern.

The European Union Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Risk Mitigation Centres of Excellence (CoE) Initiative delivered two workshops on CBRN Risk Assessment and Awareness Raising, respectively, from 3 to 6 April 2017 in Brunei.

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, the Emergency Relief Coordinator and Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs of the United Nations and the Foreign Ministers of Germany, Kuwait, Norway, Qatar, and the United Kingdom chaired today in Brussels a conference on the Syrian conflict and its impact on the region.
