On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, EU Ambassadors in Geneva are sending their best wishes from across the EU. With this special Happy Birthday video, we celebrate – socially distanced but virtually united – achievements of multilateral cooperation of the past 75 years and the EU’s longstanding partnership with the UN.

The year 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the United Nations: In 1945, soon after the end of the Second World War, nations worldwide took the commitment to work together for peace. At around the same time years, European countries chose to follow the same path with the European Union.

Huit pays africains (Kenya, Tanzanie, Afrique du Sud, République Démocratique du Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Burkina Faso et Sénégal) participeront ce vendredi 23 octobre 2020 aux « 24 Heures pour le climat ». Ils feront partie de la plus longue conférence sur les actions et innovations pour le climat qui sera organisée en partenariat avec plus d’une centaine de Press Clubs à travers le monde. Chaque conférence pourra être suivie et visionnée sur le site internet de la : www.WorldPressClubsAllianceForClimate.com. La première conférence débutera le 23 octobre à 00h01 à Bruxelles (UTC+2). Les conférences se succéderont successivement chaque heure en changeant de fuseau horaire depuis les îles du Pacifique particulièrement impactées par le changement climatique jusqu’en Alaska 23 heures plus tard en passant par l’Asie, le continent africain, l’Europe et les Amériques.

On Friday 23 October, starting at 00:01 (UTC+2 Brussels time) and for 24 hours, the World Press Clubs Alliance for Climate presents "24 Hours for Climate", the longest online conference ever organised on climate action and innovation. At the initiative of the Press Club Brussels Europe, the Alliance represents one hundred press clubs from around the world committed to sharing actionable knowledge and best practices to fight climate change.
