Students from Singapore Management University visit the EU Delegation

This week the Ambassador Dr Michael Pulch was joined by the students at Singapore Management University studying 'European Union Politics' as part of the Bachelor programme in Social Sciences, accompanied by Assistant Professor of Political Science Dr Clara Portela. For the first time this year the course achieved the maximum number of participants, and the students had the chance to visit the EU Delegation to Singapore and speak to its main representative.

The Ambassador outlined the European Union's key areas of interest in Singapore and in the wider ASEAN region, namely trade, economics and foreign policy.

Thank you for visiting us!

“The Leadership Forum comes at a crucial point in the EU-Australia relationship, with a Framework Agreement set to be signed at the earliest opportunity and the possibility of free trade negotiations starting next year,” Ambassador Fabrizi said. "The EU and Australia are close and likeminded partners, already benefitting from high levels of cooperation and committed to promoting prosperity and security together in a rules-based international system."

The EU Australia Leadership Forum was launched last month in Brussels in the presence of HR/VP Federica Mogherini and Australia's Foreign Minister Julie Bishop. On 19 October, 2016 the Australian launch at Parliament House in Canberra brought together Ministers, stakeholders, the EU Australia Forum Consortium, the diplomatic corps in Canberra and partners to mark the occasion.
