"For the fourth consecutive time in Peru´s history, voters have demonstrated their commitment to democracy and expressed their political preferences in democratic and peaceful elections.
In this context, the violent attack which caused the death of ten people transporting electoral materials to ballot stations in Junín is unacceptable.
 

The European Union thanks the Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent for organizing this panel to mark the 15th anniversary of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action (DDPA). The International Decade for people of African Descent and its Programme of activities adopted by consensus by the UN General Assembly Resolution 69/16 come as a further commitment to fight against racism, and it is indeed useful to connect these two complementary frameworks.
