The 17th EU-Kyrgyzstan Cooperation Council reviewed developments in the bilateral relations and discussed the EU's Central Asia Strategy.

The Council today adopted conclusions which set priorities and guidelines for EU cooperation in the field of countering hybrid threats and enhancing resilience to these threats, building on the progress made in recent years.

The Council today adopted a set of conclusions on the implementation by the EU of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They are considered essential for ending poverty and ensuring a peaceful, healthy and secure life for current and future generations.

We celebrate this year the 10th anniversary of the Charter of the Fundamental Rights and the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Yet these rights continue to be challenged around the world. In particular, children and youth continue to be the main victims of human rights violations.

En cette journée internationale des Droits de l’Homme, je remercie l’équipe de Radio Omega, dirigée par M. Fidèle Tamini qui m’a accordé une visite guidée ce matin dans l’enceinte de la Radio. J’ai beaucoup apprécié le professionnalisme et le respect des droits à l’information assurés par cette dynamique équipe.

Ove godine obilježavamo desetogodišnjicu Povelje o temeljnim pravima i 30. godišnjicu Konvencije UN o pravima djeteta. Ipak, ova prava i dalje se osporavaju širom svijeta. Posebno su djeca i mladi i dalje glavne žrtve kršenja ljudskih prava. Oni su prisiljeni da sebi traže utočište, regrutuju se kao vojnici, prisiljavaju se na dječiji rad ili su razdvojeni od porodice protiv svoje volje.

On 10 December 2019 in Brussels, the European Union and Ukraine discussed the consequences of the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol. It was the seventh such meeting.

The EU and Ukraine gave updates on their respective policies towards Crimea and Sevastopol, including restrictive measures. Issues discussed also included security and the human rights situation on the peninsula. Cooperation in international fora and questions of international law were also addressed by the participants.

The EU Delegation to Israel is pleased to announce the publication of a Call for Proposals " Civil Society Organisations as Actors of Governance in Israel". The global objective of this call for proposals is to contribute to the enhancement of Civil Society Organisations' participation in public policies and programmes, in Israel , in the fields of climate change and gender equality.
