Today, the European Union has published a report on the Association Implementation of the EU-Republic of Moldova Association Agreement. The report is published ahead of the 6th EU-Moldova Association Council on 28 October. It concludes that, while the second half of 2020 saw Moldova backsliding in rule of law standards and reforms, the early parliamentary elections on 11 July 2021, gave a clear and strong mandate to pro-reform forces to pursue an ambitious agenda on anti-corruption, an improved justice system and fighting poverty, in line with Moldova's commitments under the Association Agreement.

The 3rd EU-India Strategic Partnership Review took place in Brussels on 19 October 2021. Both sides exchanged views concerning best ways to join forces in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on economies, societies as well as individuals.

Thematic session 1: Increasing links between drug trafficking, corruption and other forms of organized crime, including trafficking in persons, trafficking in firearms, cybercrime and money-laundering and, in some cases, terrorism, including money-laundering in connection with the financing of terrorism, are observed.

The EU funds will support the Ugandan Red Cross Society in delivering much-needed relief assistance, especially to displaced families whose houses were extensively damaged by the heavy rains.

The European Commission’s Executive Vice-President for the Green Deal, Mr Frans Timmermans, announced today (19/10) the start of a new EU-funded “Smart Green ASEAN Cities” programme, following his meeting with the ASEAN Secretary-General, Dato Lim Jock Hoi, at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta.
