The European Union (EU) has highlighted the importance of the ongoing decentralization programme in both bringing Government closer to the people and making the administration more accountable in delivering on its obligations to the public.
The Government of the Republic of Liberia and the European Union met on May 17, 2016 for the Fourth EU-Liberia Political Dialogue. Article 8 of the Cotonou Partnership Agreement (between the European Union and the African, Caribbean and Pacific States) establishes a regular and comprehensive political dialogue leading to commitments on both sides. The Dialogue was formally launched in June 2012.
The Liberian Delegation was headed by H. E. Ms. Marjon V. Kamara, Minister of Foreign Affairs, whilst H. E. Ms. Tiina Intelmann, Ambassador/Head of the European Union Delegation to Liberia led the European side.
