Today's attacks on MINUSMA in northern Mali have left several UN soldiers and civilians dead and dozens injured. They deal a blow to the country’s stability and the implementation of the peace agreement signed in June 2015.


The European Union extends its sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the UN.


It reiterates its full support for MINUSMA and the implementation of the peace agreement in Mali.

The European Union and Kazakhstan held the seventh round of their annual Human Rights Dialogue in Astana on 26 November. The Kazakhstan delegation was led by Mr Iogan Merkel, First Deputy Prosecutor General, while the EU delegation was led by Mr Toivo Klaar, Head of Central Asia Division at the European External Action Service

The dialogue allowed for constructive exchanges on a wide range of issues, including freedom of association, women's rights, the prevention of torture and ill-treatment of detainees and press freedom.

L'Union européenne et le Kazakhstan ont tenu la septième session de leur dialogue annuel sur les droits de l'homme le 26 novembre à Astana. La délégation du Kazakhstan était conduite par M. Iogan Merkel, premier vice-procureur général, tandis que M. Toivo Klaar, chef de la division de l'Asie centrale du Service européen pour l'action extérieure, conduisait la délégation de l'UE.

Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the Union for foreign affairs and security policy, took part via video conference in a high level seminar on the Middle East and the Mediterranean, organised by the NATO parliamentary assembly in Florence.

Le représentant spécial du Secrétaire général des Nations unies, M. Martin Kobler, s'emploie activement à mener à bonne fin dans les meilleurs délais le dialogue politique libyen, et nous attendons de toutes les parties libyennes qu'elles fassent preuve de courage et marquent leur accord sur un gouvernement d'entente nationale.
