San José, 3 de agosto de 2021.- En respuesta a las intensas lluvias que están afectado a Costa Rica, la Unión Europea ha destinado 12.5 millones de colones (170,000 EUR) en financiación humanitaria para ayudar a las familias más afectadas por las inundaciones y deslizamientos.

Esta financiación humanitaria de la UE apoyará a la Cruz Roja Costarricense en la prestación de la ayuda de emergencia necesaria para atender las necesidades inmediatas causadas por las inundaciones mediante acciones para garantizar el acceso al agua potable, hacer frente a la inseguridad alimentaria y garantizar la protección de la niñez, las mujeres y las personas más vulnerables.

La ayuda humanitaria beneficiará directamente a 7,500 individuos en Cartago, Heredia y Limón que se han identificado como las personas más vulnerables debido a que, siendo por la mayoría pequeños agricultores y personas que trabajan en el sector turístico, han visto gravemente afectados sus medios de vida.

La asistencia incluye la distribución de filtros de agua acompañada de sesiones con las comunidades locales para promover el cuidado del saneamiento del agua y la entrega de dinero en efectivo para garantizar que las familias puedan comprar lo que más necesitan. La intervención también apoya el desarrollo de procedimientos para la protección, incluso contra la violencia de género.

GENERAL INFORMATION

This notice is intended to inform property market participants as well as any other interested economic operators about the property needs of the Delegation of the European Union to Guyana (the ‘Delegation’) in Georgetown, GUYANA, and to collect information on properties and projects in Georgetown, GUYANA.

The premises/building’s total aboveground net surface area required is between 690 m² and 805 m². Said area should include all corridors, entrance hall, reception area, and internal staircases/elevators but exclude parking bays and areas exclusively dedicated to technical equipment.

The premises/building required to meet the Delegation’s needs should preferably:
 be completed (or nearing future completion) and available for occupation by 30.06.2026 at the latest. Projects may also be considered, if appropriate;
 be fitted out for office space. Base buildings (shell and core) may also be considered if the owners offer to fit them out as required before occupation by the Delegation;
 comply with the standard building specifications of the European Commission (http://ec.europa.eu/oib/pdf/mit-standard-building-specs_en.pdf);
 be suitable for accommodating 23 members of staff in single/shared offices and/or open spaces;
 comprise a conference room for 15-20 persons, at least 4 individual offices, 1 or 2 open spaces, archive room, storage room, IT rooms and minimum 10 parking bays required.

The proposed building contract will be, as the case may be, either a lease agreement or a purchase and sale agreement executed in the name of the European Union (the ‘EU’). The contracting authority will be the European External Action Service (the ‘EEAS’).
