It is with great sadness that we have learned of an attack against innocent civilians during a cultural event yesterday in Kabul that killed a number of civilians and injured several more. These cowardly acts will not affect our determination to continue working with the Afghan people and government for a better future.

The EU expresses its deepest condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of those killed in the attack and hopes for a fast recovery of those injured.

Le gouvernement pakistanais doit tout mettre en œuvre pour s'y attaquer et traduire en justice les auteurs de ces actes violents et criminels. Ces crimes ne sauraient rester impunis. Les droits de tous les citoyens, quelle que soit leur religion ou leur croyance, doivent être protégés.



"The deadly attack on a bus in Karachi today that has killed at least 43 people and wounded more civilians is a further instance of the scourge of sectarian violence.

The Pakistani government must do its utmost to tackle sectarian violence and bring to justice the perpetrators of these violent and criminal acts. There must also be no impunity for these crimes. The rights of all citizens need to be protected, regardless of religion or belief.


Après les événements qui se sont produits aujourd'hui au Burundi, nos premières pensées vont aux citoyens de ce pays – leur sécurité est primordiale et il est capital que la situation demeure sous contrôle.



After the developments in Burundi today, our first thoughts are with the citizens of the country – their security and safety is paramount and it is essential the situation does not spin out of control.


The European Commission presented a European Agenda on Migration outlining the immediate measures to respond to the crisis in the Mediterranean and steps to be taken in the coming years to better manage migration in all its aspects.
