The fundamentals of the accession process 


Last week, the Ambassadors of EU, Germany, Ireland and the Representative of Flanders in Southern Africa, together as Team Europe, conducted a joint field mission to monitor a series of agriculture and nutrition projects  in the south of Malawi.

Today, the European Commission adopted its 2021 Enlargement Package, providing a detailed assessment of the state of play and the progress made by the Western Balkans and Turkey on their respective paths towards the European Union, with a particular focus on implementing fundamental reforms, as well as clear guidance on the reform priorities ahead.

Today, the European Union has published a report on the Association Implementation of the EU-Republic of Moldova Association Agreement. The report is published ahead of the 6th EU-Moldova Association Council on 28 October. It concludes that, while the second half of 2020 saw Moldova backsliding in rule of law standards and reforms, the early parliamentary elections on 11 July 2021, gave a clear and strong mandate to pro-reform forces to pursue an ambitious agenda on anti-corruption, an improved justice system and fighting poverty, in line with Moldova's commitments under the Association Agreement.

The 3rd EU-India Strategic Partnership Review took place in Brussels on 19 October 2021. Both sides exchanged views concerning best ways to join forces in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on economies, societies as well as individuals.
