The European Union and its Member States accredited to Myanmar express deep concern about reports of intensifying military action and armed clashes in several States, also involving signatories to the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA).

EU-funded project worth over EUR 2 million presented its results of support to business initiatives to IDPs. Aiming at economic integration of IDPs and war-affected communities, the project created 142 new jobs and provided 516 grants to support business initiatives of Georgia's IDPs.

EU Delegation to Tajikistan announces of the number of high-level EU-Tajikistan joint events, which will take place next week in Dushanbe.

11 October 2016 will see the gathering of the 5th meeting of the EU-Tajikistan Cooperation Committee in Dushanbe. The Committee will be co-chaired by Mr. Luc Devigne, Director, Deputy Managing Director Russia, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia and OSCE of the European External Action Service.

11 октября 2016 в Душанбе состоится 5-е заседание Комитета по сотрудничеству ЕС-Таджикистан. Заседание Комитета будет проводиться под совместным председательством г-на Люка Девин, Директора, Заместителя управляющего директора по России, Восточному партнерству, Центральной Азии и ОБСЕ при Европейской службы внешних действий.


Significant changes will be needed in the Member States’ energy-generating mix if the European Union is to meet its 2050 goal to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 80-95 % compared to 1990 levels, according to a new European Environment Agency (EEA) report published today. While the European Union has made considerable progress in improving energy efficiency and using renewable energy sources, a well-planned transition out of carbon-intensive power generation is needed to meet the long-term aim of creating a low-carbon society.

On 6 and 7 October a two day conference on e-infrastructure took place in Tbilisi, organized by EU-funded project EaPConnect . The event aimed to serve as a platform for collaboration on policy and research and supports community building in e-Infrastructures between the Eastern Partnership region and the EU Member States.
