Initially planned to take place in Indonesia, the 5th Security Policy Dialogue between the European Union (EU) and Indonesia was held virtually on 21 October 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Dialogue contributes to strengthening EU-Indonesia cooperation on security issues.
Today, the Commission is presenting its Third Report on the progress made in the fight against human trafficking. Taking stock of measures taken since 2017, the report highlights recent trends in human trafficking, the particular complexities in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, and remaining challenges that the EU and Member States must address as a matter of priority.

On October 20, 2020, another round of the “European Union - Central Asia” high level Security and Political Dialogue was held online. From the European side EEAS SG Ms Helga Schmid held a constructive dialogue with all the Central Asian Deputy Foreign Ministers and the Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister. Uzbekistan was represented by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov.
