The Delegation of the European Union (DEU) to Timor-Leste and the European Union (EU) Member States represented in the country have launched an extensive and inclusive process of consultation and feedback with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) on the EU Roadmap for Engagement with Civil Society in Timor-Leste.

Mme Federica Mogherini, haute représentante pour les affaires étrangères et la politique de sécurité/vice-présidente de la Commission européenne, et M. Salahuddin Rabbani, ministre des affaires étrangères de la République islamique d'Afghanistan, se sont rencontrés ce jour à Bruxelles en marge du sommet des ministres des affaires étrangères de l'OTAN.


Federica Mogherini, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, and Salahuddin Rabbani, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met today in Brussels in the margins of the NATO Foreign Ministers' meeting.

Their talks focused on preparations for the NATO Summit, to be held in Warsaw in early July, and on the Brussels Conference on Afghanistan, to be co-hosted and co-chaired by the European Union on 4-5 October 2016 in Brussels.

The third High Level Political and Security Dialogue between the European Union and Central Asian countries (Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan) took place today in Brussels. As per the previous dialogue held last year in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan was invited to participate.

On 19 May, High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini will chair a Ministerial meeting in Brussels with France, Germany, United Kingdom and the United States.

Jean-Marc Ayrault, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Philip Hammond and John Kerry will be present.

The meeting will serve to discuss the state of play on the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action as far as nuclear and sanctions related issues are concerned.

The court's decision to release human rights defenders Biram Ould Dah Ould Abeid and Brahim Bilal Ramdhane, respectively President and Vice-President of the Initiative for the Resurgence of the Abolitionist Movement (IRA), will help to promote open dialogue between the authorities and all sections of civil society, with a view to increasing respect for human rights in general and the rights of association and peaceful protest in particular.
