MEP Maria Arena, former Chief Observer of the EU  Election Observation Mission (EOM) to Liberia in 2017, has led an Election Follow-up mission (EFM) to the country to assess and discuss with national stakeholders the state of play of the implementation of the recommendations made by the EOM.

Maria Arena and Head of Delegation Laurent Delahousse presented the findings of the EFM at a Press Conference in Monrovia on 7 May 2021.

“Hakbiit Feto” – Empower Women - is a new European Union-funded project, implemented by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in collaboration with Rede Feto and the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC), aiming to support women’s social and economic empowerment.

Këtë vit në Ditën e Europës, për herë të parë, të rinjtë nga rajoni, Ambasadorët e rinj Europian dhe Ambasadorët e BE-së në shtetet e Ballkanit Perëndimor janë takuar bashkarisht në një ngjarje onlajn. Tema e debatit ishte se si personat e rinj nga rajoni mund të lidhen më së miri me Bashkimin Europian, dhe pjesëmarrësit janë qasur me pasion dhe entuziazëm.

На овогодинешниот Ден на Европа, за првпат досега се собраа млади луѓе од регионот, млади европски амбасадори и амбасадори на ЕУ во земјите од Западен Балкан на онлајн настан. Темата на дебатата беше како можат младите од регионот уште подобро да се поврзат со Европската Унија, а учесниците со ентузијазам пристапија кон темата.

On Europe Day this year, for the first time ever, young people from the region, Young European Ambassadors and the EU ambassadors to the Western Balkan countries got together in an online event. The theme of the debate was how young people from the region can connect even better with the European Union, and the participants approached it with passion and enthusiasm.

The EU is reaffirming its solidarity with vulnerable people in countries in the Sahel and Central Africa through a humanitarian budget of €210 million in 2021. The funding will be allocated to humanitarian projects in the following eight countries: Burkina Faso (€24.3 million), Cameroon (€17.5 million), the Central African Republic (€21.5 million), Chad (€35.5 million) Mali (€31.9 million), Mauritania (€10 million), Niger (€32.3 million) and Nigeria (€37 million).
